Introduce myself? Hmm...

Hello, my name is Nestor Rodriguez. I am, in a sense, a new and old
participant on the Kazei 5 universe, having played in the original K5
game (I played Jagger). Unfortunately, I did not have the time to fully
participate in the PBEM, although I heard some of the best stories from
MIke about it.

I live close enough to Mike to come over to his place from time to time
and be subjected to his brilliant flights of fancy. Not to mention that
he and I share many a "no s**t, there we were" story from our gaming
exploits together. When I heard the K5 PBEM was restarting, I was
interested enough to jump in. Time will tell if I can keep up with you
prolific creative folks. ;-)

As Mike will attest, I'm a great believer in using imitation as the
sincerest form of flattery <g>, and also playing either law enforcement
or military types. So you can imagine the ribbing I'll get from him
when I say my initial concept for this new game is a Hong Kong cop.

And not just any cop, I mean the classic HK movie cop. He's world-weary
and cynical, with a steady diet of cheap booze and cigarettes to keep
him going. He's no goody-two shoes either; he's dealt with the criminal
element, both with gold and lead. He knows he can't save the world, but
if he can end the day having meted out some justice, he can get up the
next day and not swallow a bullet. I can just hear Michael mutter the
immortal lines, "Give him a gun, he thinks he's Superman. Give him two,
he thinks he's God."

He doesn't have any visible esper abilities, and may sport some minor
cybernetic enhancements, but other than that, he's just a man with a
lousy job and no future. And for those most in need walking the Hong
Kong streets, he's all they've got.

Did I mention, one of my favorite bits of musical inspiration is the
theme from Lethal Weapon 3?

But if there's one man,
Just one man,
Who'll lay down his life for you and I.

I hate to say it,
It's hard to say it,
But it's probably me.

"Reality Bites... and I've got the toothmarks to prove it!"
