Some of you may know me from the HERO forums, where I post as
Bloodstone. Michael told me to come and introduce myself a few days
ago, so of course I figured the best way to endear myself to the man
would be to ignore him completely! (translation: real life, she is a
cruel mistress). But I'm here now so you can all rest easy or panic,
whatever you prefer.
About myself: I'm from the Chicago-land area, I've been doing pen n
paper RPG's for nearly two decades now and I'm almost-but-not-quite a
complete novice when it comes to this online thing. Rumor has it that
I have shred of creativity and a modicum of writing skill and I hope
to unleash both on you all like…um… something really dramatic
sounding. I've seen my fair share of the anime and films that are
cited as source material for K5, so I might be able to bluff one or
two of you into believing that I know what I'm talking about... though
probably not now that I've said that.
About my character: I have a name, a general outline of my abilities
and I'm working on a background story. Sadly, my character lacks all
of these things. Ok, just kidding… well sort of…
My characters name is Gabriel Price; Caucasian, a father of two,
somewhere in his mid thirties to early forties. He's in good shape and
has a commanding presence, but is otherwise remarkably forgettable.
He's also a low powered esper and a highly trained black ops agent
that works for "the government". Which government is still up in the
air. In fact it's so up in the air that I could easily see him doing
similar work for a major corporation. Regardless of that, he's a field
agent that operates along with a small team of specialists
(technicians, hackers, espers with powers/skills that are not fit for
field work, etc). He's globally active, deployed wherever his
superiors think his talents are needed most. By the sound of thing him
and his talents will be needed in Hong Kong some time in the
foreseeable future.
As for his esper powers, I want Gabriel to be more versatile then
powerful. I plan for him to have limited TK and telepathic abilities,
which seems to be rather uncommon in K5. His powers aren't exactly
easy for him to use. In fact, using them too much is downright painful
so he tends not to rely on them. In his eyes, his esper abilities are
simply an edge that most other agents don't have. He still prefers a
trusty side arm to a psychokinetic blast. Besides, in his line of work
subtlety is often critical, so overt displays of telekinetic might
just aren't the order of the day.
That's all I got for now.
