Yes, sorry to say. Shoko had her 4th birthday near the end of the previous 
run, so she'd be 9 now if she were still alive - which I think is unlikely. 
That's why I didn't have to debate about whether to make a new character or 
not when I found out we were jumping 5 years ahead and over to Hong Kong, as 
there was really no reasonable way Shoko could still be around. Oh, sure,  I 
could have contrived something if I'd really wanted to, but the problem is 
that it would have felt...well, contrived.

Good. I was always very fond of her, and would like to see you keep writing 
stories for her. Besides, as was suggested earlier, I think a lot of the new 
characters may end up living in or around the Mandarin Apartments, which 
would tend to make her a more significant character in the new K5.
