Vivian: Woo Hoo! I'm finally first at something!

I agree and I'm glad you said something about it, Mike. All one has to do to
see that you don't have to be a combat powerhouse in K5 is to look at some
of your most interesting characters, like Sarah Ferrari and David Lam.

Although Vivian Lau is a fairly powerful esper, I was careful to also give
her some significant weaknesses, both physical and psychological, to balance
her out as well. I won't bother to enumerate them here, since the character
profile linked to above defines them pretty well. I actually toyed with
several character concepts before I settled on Vivian Lau. Most if not all
of the others were weaker than her - in fact, two had virtually no combat
capability at all - but that isn't why I rejected any of them. Ultimately, I
chose Vivian Lau because her background linked her to Raven and was tied
closely to events from the previous series, which made for a more
interesting character and opened up a wide range of interesting story
possibilities.
