**sudden brainstorm 2 -- electric boogaloo**
How about using vaarious NPCs to dispense info? For example, if I start
various section of with a first-person overview of the history of that
section, then I could have...
Sarah J Ferrari -- history of the world
Shion Nys -- history of espers
Matthew Shirow -- history of replicated humans
Marta Nys -- cyber
Kitten or Lora or Jagger -- cyborgs
Sandra -- the Zone
(and so on)
Some of these histories will be only a page or so, although the inital
history will be far longer. Of course, most of the text will be in
standard format, as doing the whole book in 1st person would get old
quick.

There is a race between mankind and the universe. Mankind is trying to
build bigger, better, faster, and more foolproof machines. The universe
is trying to build bigger, better, and faster fools. So far the universe
is winning.
